Desert Pastorale

Desert Pastorale is a brand established by Ode To Earth under an initiative at Barmer, Rajasthan to provide a means of livelihoods to the multitude of artisans in Barmer and surrounding villages, most of them being women. The women artisans were provided training in basic hand and machine stitching, embroidery amongst other techniques; through which they developed a range of products such as appliqué and kantha work bed and table linen, stoles, dupattas and handcrafted bags. Applique and Kantha is also sometimes combined with block printing and tribal embroideries to create a wider product  variety. Hand block printed dupattas and stoles using natural dyes or azo-free dyes add to the exclusive range of Desert Pastorale.
